Entertainment Desk - "BAAAM!" The "Queen of Atlanta" is officially returning to the crown. After years of legal battles, public feuds, and a notable absence from the franchise she helped build, NeNe Leakes is confirmed to return to the Bravo universe in 2026.

While fans have been clamoring for her to "hold a peach" once again, her return comes with a unique twist that celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Real Housewives franchise.

The Big Comeback: "Ultimate Road Trip"

On January 13, 2026, reports confirmed that Leakes will appear in the upcoming Bravo series "The Real Housewives: Ultimate Road Trip." This new spinoff—first teased by Andy Cohen at BravoCon—is a high-stakes evolution of the Ultimate Girls Trip format.

Rather than staying at a single luxury villa, a rotating cast of iconic Housewives will travel across the United States, stopping at the most legendary cities in the franchise's history.

What to Expect from NeNe’s Return:

  • The Atlanta Leg: NeNe isn't expected to be a full-time "road tripper" for the entire season. Instead, she will serve as the central figure for the Atlanta portion of the journey.

  • Iconic Revisit: The show aims to revisit the most famous locations and "re-live" the culture-shifting moments that Leakes helped create.

  • Cameo Power: While she won't be a full-time cast member on The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 17, this appearance marks her first official collaboration with Bravo since her exit in 2020.

Mending Fences with Bravo

This return is a monumental shift in the reality TV landscape. In 2022, Leakes filed a federal lawsuit against Bravo, NBCUniversal, and Andy Cohen, alleging a "hostile and racist work environment." The suit was later dismissed without prejudice as both parties moved toward arbitration.

Industry insiders suggest that this "Ultimate Road Trip" appearance is a "test run" or a strategic olive branch. By bringing the most memed woman in reality TV history back into the fold, Bravo is clearly looking to recapture the "magic" of the show's peak years.

"I'll never say never," NeNe previously told The Breakfast Club. "If they got a check that’s got zero, zero, zero, zero on the end? I might be back!" - Nene

Why This Matters for RHOA

The Real Housewives of Atlanta has struggled with ratings and cast cohesion since NeNe’s departure after Season 12. With the recent returns of other veterans like Porsha Williams and Phaedra Parks, Bravo is leaning heavily into nostalgia to revitalize the brand.

While this isn't a permanent return to the main series yet, it opens the door for a potential full-time "Peach" in the future. For now, fans can look forward to NeNe’s signature shade and "bloop"-worthy one-liners when the road trip hits Georgia later this year.
